The Military Housing and Lodging Institute (MHLI)

MHLI was originally founded to provide high-quality management consulting, functional training and surveys for the Department of Defense. Today, MHLI is recognized as an industry leader to support federal government housing operations. Our Training Programs are essential to government and private sector housing professionals.

Our specialized services include the management and operation of family, bachelor, and transient housing for all military Services of the Department of Defense, including the Coast Guard. Simply put, nobody knows the business of military housing like MHLI.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

MHLI is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Virginia and operates under federal statutes as a section 501(c)(3) or educational nonprofit institute in 2004. We’re governed by a Board of Directors who are former senior managers of military and lodging programs. Our directors serve without compensation other than reimbursement of direct expenses.

Managed and staffed by former senior federal employees, both civilian and military, MHLI has a broad understanding of the needs of organizations operating in today’s fast-paced and changing environment. MHLI draws upon the expertise of individuals who are well-versed in the issues, procedures, and requirements for both the Defense Department and the private sector.
